LITTLE ROCK, AR — Through a Freedom of Information request, Little Rock School District leaders handed over a letter from the associate superintendent of human resources, saying Chiquetta Plummer’s services as a substitute teacher “will no longer be utilized by the district.”
With that letter, they included Plummer’s handwritten account of what happened.
In it, she says the regular teacher didn’t leave any work for the ninth grade math students, so she told them to quietly talk among themselves. She recalls a group of five students forming a circle just as she picked up the newspaper to start reading it.
She admits she became preoccupied, and when she looked up, she saw one female student dancing on one of the male students.
She told them to sit down, and she turned to check her Google and Yahoo! mail accounts.
