Hearing Set In Suit Over $1 Million Lottery Ticket (What Do The Heat Reader Think About This)

(AP) — A hearing is set in a lawsuit over who owns a $1 million Arkansas lottery ticket, with three people each saying they own the prize.

White County Circuit Judge Thomas Hughes is to hear Tuesday from Sharon Duncan, who claims to be the original purchaser of the ticket at the Super 1 Stop in Beebe.

Another woman, Sharon Jones of Beebe, claims to own the ticket, saying she picked it out of a trash receptacle at the store. Store manager Lisa Petriches filed the original suit, saying Jones took the ticket from a pile of discards she was saving.

Some players save losing lottery tickets because they can be entered in drawings for secondary prizes.

The corporation that owns the store, Summer One LLC, has also joined the suit.
