MOTIVATION 101: New Orleans’ Inspirational SE7EN

You know you have the ear of the streets and beyond when you have so many followers that you need multiple Facebook pages just to accommodate the page hits you receive in a day’s time.  You also know you have that kind of pull when people hang on your every word and anxiously await the next post.  And so it is with New Orleans’ own, Corneal Sevyn Johnson, or as his followers know him, “SE7EN”.

SE7EN is an author, poet and businessman, but most importantly, a loving father to his daughters.  SE7EN came to the attention of The Heat Magazine’s upper management after one of his loyal Facebook friends suggested we check him out and what he has been doing for his community.  We did so nearly right away and let’s just say, we were not disappointed.  In fact, we made it a point to get with SE7EN so we could see what this hype is really about – and now we know.

SE7EN is quickly becoming a “Facebook Phenom.”  The Heat Magazine asked the questions, “Why are so many women and men too [for that matter] hailing him as ‘The Truth’ and ”Why is his Facebook page arguably more trafficked than any other page on Facebook [fan, celebrity page or otherwise]? What do thousands of Facebook participants have in common? The answer is SE7EN.

The word is spreading almost virally throughout Facebook and soon beyond about how SE7EN meticulously arranges words to frame “Truths” into thought provoking messages and then communicates them through what he calls “Coffee Notes” and “Quinspirations”.

So like we said above – The Heat Magazine sought SE7EN out so we could get the answers to those questions and more and here is what he had to say:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: First off, we have to know what these “Coffee Notes” and “Quinspirations” are that we keep hearing about on Facebook and other social networking sites.  Tell us about that.

SE7EN: Quinspirations are “quotes I create for your inspiration” and I post them on my Facebook pages.  I tell people that there is hope – you can search “Quinspirations” and hit “Like” to receive my inspirational quotes.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: There is obviously something special about you, so tell us just what that is.

SE7EN: Besides my sometimes beyond clever quips and other times thoughts that take your breath away, I literally maintain conversations with hundreds of thousands of my readers on a regular basis. I may tag up to 700 friends at a time in my Facebook posts and I personally address or acknowledge each reader’s comment.  I hold extended inbox conversations with so many that I’ve lost count.  I also answer reader questions every week via Formspring. As a result, 1,250 (including “likes”) is the average number of comments received for Coffee Notes. The most on a single status was about 400. The most on a single Note/Poem [such as] “I will Carry You…” surpassed 400.” When Facebook Impressions were added to my stats, it was found out that in a 3-month period, I had over 872,000 people visits to my pages.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: How often do you send out “Coffee Notes” and post status updates?

SE7EN: I send out “Coffee Notes” and post statuses daily.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What is your motivation?

SE7EN: Simply put, L‐O‐V‐E. SE7EN has 3 daughters – a gorgeous 20-year old named Rochelle, and 2 adorable baby girls, 3-year old Jaidyn, and 1-year old Ashtyn. My youngest suffered heart problems within the first 5 months of her life. It was my quest for prayers and encouragement for Ashtyn that led me to Facebook in the first place.  I could not have even imagined the powerful exchange that would take place because of my continued obedience. Certain people even convinced me that I was spending too much time on Facebook, and that I should quit, but God sent me a message saying: “THE THING THAT GOD WILL GIVE YOU A FINANCIAL BLESSING FOR IS THE THING THAT YOU WOULD DO FOR FREE.”  I did not stop and will not stop.  My love for my daughters and my passion and determination to share the truth still fuels my fire today.

SE7EN is quickly becoming a sought after and very influential personality on Facebook since joining.  He has picked up an endorsement by Morgan Bailey Coffee Company where his quotes will soon appear on their cups and napkins.

In addition, SE7EN has a magazine column in ONE TEN Magazine, his quotes are used on radio spots and in TV ads and he has an iPhone/Droid app being developed by a software company who sought him out for its production. He is also working on his first book and has an upcoming talk show aptly entitled, “Da Coffee Shoppe”, soon to begin airing.
