Man Who Faked His Death 24 Years Ago Finally Arrested In California

A man who faked his death on a fishing trip after being accused of severely beating a woman has been found and finally arrested – 24 years later.

Robert George Arcieri, now 72, had been held in 1987 in connection with the assault of a 34-year-old woman in Scottsdale, Arizona, but vanished a few months later.

It was reported at the time that he had died falling off a dock during a fishing trip – a claim police suspected to be untrue.

Searches of the river in which he supposedly drowned were fruitless and they indicted him three months after the ‘death’.
