A cross-dressing man wanted in connection with a string of car thefts has finally been arrested, police said.
Lemar Neil Robinson was apparently recognised by a witness from news reports on the TV and was arrested driving one of the three vehicles he is alleged to have stolen in Savannah, Georgia.
The 24-year-old, dressed entirely in women’s clothing, is alleged to have taken the cars for test drives from car lots across the town, but failed to return them.
Police said he was arrested in an SUV that had been stolen from Car City Statesboro on January 5.
Bubba Hunt, owner of the car lot, told ABC News: ‘I don’t think he dressed that way to fool us.’
Mr Hunt claims Robinson arrived at Car City in a Mitsubishi SUV he had allegedly stolen on December 19 and arranged for another test drive.
After allowing his drivers licence to be photocopied, he returned with the test drive car and complained about it.
