An international male celebrity who ‘knowingly’ infected their victim with herpes in a Las Vegas penthouse has reportedly paid them $5 million to stop the case going to court.
The settlement came after the victim, not described as male or female, issued a lawsuit against the star claiming damages of $20million.
The victim’s lawyer Keith Davidson revealed that he started proceedings against the celebrity as a ‘warning shot’ when they made a settlement offer which was considered ‘way too low’.
Celebrity website TMZ reported that frantic negotiations between Mr Davidson and the star had been ongoing since before the suit was issued in May.
The suit however kick-started the process and with the star fearful their name would leak to the media it appears he has upped his offer to make the case go away.
The court documents describe how the victim was ‘lured’ to the star’s ‘sprawling’ penthouse like a ‘carnivorous plant’ luring ‘unsuspecting viactims with veiled deceit’.
In the suit it says the star in question ‘entered into a nefarious plot designed to lure [the] plaintiff into his luxurious hotel room to serve his prurient desires’.
It further claims the celeb told the plaintiff he did not have any venereal diseases.
The plaintiff has now contracted herpes.
