WHAT’S RIGHT WITH US: Charlie Braxton

cb

The Heat Magazine wants to extend warm wishes and a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to legendary music journalist/poet/playwright/music historian extraordinaire, Mr. Charlie Braxton. We also thought today would be a fitting day to honor one of our true legends – he is most definitely “What’s Right With Us“.

For those of you who are familiar with Charlie, you know that he is a special being who cares about his world. He is frank, humble, entertaining, and probably one of the most intelligent people whom I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. In fact, Charlie was an integral part of Southern hip hop music taking off and remaining relevant for decades. Though charming and diplomatic, he has been a champion of human rights for a very long time – and that won’t be coming to a halt any time soon.

Charlie’s resume is so long that we won’t even bother to publish pieces of it, for we wouldn’t know where to begin. One thing is for certain, Charlie has played the parts of hero, mentor, teacher, and friend to many in and around the entertainment industry. Being a champion of certain social causes, he always has a bit of advice for those with whom he interacts – and it is always advice that you need at that moment in time. Raised in Mississippi and well versed in the Southern political climate, Charlie is a brilliant man, wise beyond his years who inspires people to reach higher. He is one of the ones who makes a difference – a positive difference.

We wish Charlie a very Happy Birthday and hope it was a great one for him!
