Canadian pop songstress Avril Lavigne shared some strong language at an all ages show at the Tampa Bay Rays’ Tropicana Field this past weekend. Though, the Saturday (May 28) Tampa Bay 7-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians may have prompted the fans to be a bit less accepting of Lavigne’s foul language.
Singing for the team’s summer concert series, the 26-year-old singer took to the stage to perform songs from her newest album ‘Goodbye Lullaby,’ but when sound issues plagued the set, Lavigne laid into the crowd with a few choice expletives.
According to The Globe and Mail, Ray’s spokesman Rick Vaughn issued a statement about the team’s embarrassment. “The Rays demand profanity-free performances from all of our concert performers and we are extremely disappointed by the language used in last night’s show,” Vaughn stated. “It is not consistent with the family-friendly atmosphere that Tropicana Field is known for.”
