The incident took place at the Victoria’s Secret on 34th street.
Eyewitness News is told store security approached the girls because they were acting suspiciously in the store.
After a discussion with them in the employee break room, sources say one of the girls told authorities there were human remains in one of the bags.
One person, the person who is believed to have given birth to the baby was transported to Bellevue Hospital, another person is being questioned at the police precinct.
A teen girl had a dead baby in her bag when she was stopped for suspected shoplifting at Victoria’s Secret Thursday, according to police sources.
The 17-year-old girl told police she suffered a miscarriage a day earlier.
The baby did not have signs of trauma, sources said. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
The teen was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
