Long sought after fugitive Gary Wilson, 42, was arrested in Oklahoma on Friday, February 25, 2011, by local authorities. Wilson was arrested at a residence located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, which is located in Cherokee County, Oklahoma. Members of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and the Eastern Oklahoma U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force arrested Wilson.
Investigators were conducting an unrelated investigation in Tahlequah and found Wilson in the residence. Wilson was wanted on rape charges stemming from an investigation conducted by the Arkansas State Police. The arrest marks the end of a nearly four-month long fugitive investigation led by the U.S. Marshals Service Western Arkansas Fugitive Task Force.
