USA Today is reporting that JPMorgan Chase filed for foreclosure on his four-bedroom, four-bath house located in Kendall.
The former NFL great bought the house for $575,000 in 2000. It’s currently valued at $478,000.
The 64-year old Simpson, nicknamed “The Juice” was a household name for years as a star running back in college at USC before turning pro and playing eleven seasons for the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers. After his football career ended Simpson found success as an actor and commentator on Monday Night Football.
Simpson’s fame turned into infamy in 1994 when he was arrested for the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles. Although he was acquitted of the murders a year later, things were never the same for him and he became one of the most hated men in America.
On September 13, 2007, Simpson and six other men forced their way into sports memorabilia collector Bruce Fromong’s hotel room at Palace Station in Las Vegas and robbed him at gunpoint. Simpson claimed that Fromong had memorabilia that belonged to him, but a jury didn’t see it that way.
On October 3, 2008, Simpson was was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 10 other charges related to the case. He was sentenced to a maximum of 33 years with the possibility of parole after nine. He is currently being held at Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada.
