Nathaniel Dwayne “Nate Dogg†Hale, pioneer and trailblazer for the G-Funk Era of music, was laid to rest on Saturday, in a service that was closed at the request of the family after making 1,000 tickets and shuttles available to members of the public on a first come, first served basis. Nate Dogg died on March 15, 2011 at the age of 41.
The morning services were held at the Queen Mary Dome in Long Beach, California. Attending were legendary artists Snoop Dogg, Warren G and The Game.
Shante Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s wife, and Long Beach City Councilman Dee Andrews teamed up to find a venue large enough to accommodate the number of people expected to attend the service.
The internet is abuzz today with reports of Snoop Dogg’s new tattoo of Nate Dogg. You can check out the story and photographs HERE.
The Heat Magazine sends out our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Nate Dogg. His unique style will live on through his music.
