High School Basketball Coach Caught Beating Students On Cellphone Video

The mother of a former Yazoo County high school student tells us Murrah
High School basketball coach Marlon Dorsey beat her son and other
members of the basketball team when he coached there in 2008.

She claims when she reported the incident to administrators, they told
her not to worry because Dorsey wouldn’t be returning to the school the
following year.
When we showed it to him, Jackson Public Schools superintendent Dr.
Lonnie Edwards was disturbed by the cell phone video that shows him
using a five to ten pound weightlifting belt to beat players.

“That video shows a reflection of inappropriate behavior,” he said.
Edwards says he was not aware of allegations against Dorsey at Yazoo County High School.

The superintendent for Yazoo county schools tells us he was not aware of
the allegations in his district…that Dorsey beat students there.
He says Dorsey left the high school on his own after a year there. He says he was not fired.
