(HEAT EXCLUSIVE) The Heat Kicks It Wit Kawanna (Part 5)

Part 5 is the last section of The Heat’s Exclusive with Kawanna Prout:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: If a movie were made about your life, who would play you?

KAWANNA: Taraji P. Henson because she can pull off any part and I love her work – or maybe even Queen Latifah.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What advice do you have for a young person just starting out in the entertainment industry?

KAWANNA: Stay true to yourself, never ever give up. Never compromise your integrity and always seek legal advice before entering into any agreement, not even verbally.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What event had the most effect on you?

KAWANNA: I lost my mother a few years ago and it made me realize how cold the world was. I felt very alone and never had my cheerleader anymore. I realized a lot of things about myself and some things were very painful, but I had to sooner or later face the truth about many things. I had to adjust, re-evaluate and accept the truth. Once I did that, I came out swinging and made a promise to myself that I would never ever let anyone dictate my future or stop me from reaching my greatest potential and here I am today – kickinitwith Kawanna.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What’s in the future for you?

KAWANNA: This is my new foundation – something that is near and dear to my heart. I am in the new developing phase of it. R.O.W.E.S Foundation stands for (R)esilience (O)ver (W)ounds (E)quals (S)uccess. Resilience is the ability of a person to get success and attain prosperity, even in the phase of difficulty and setbacks. Many of us have had setbacks in life or have been faced with adversity, whether we were teenage mothers like myself, come from broken homes like myself or came up through struggles, but continue to strive. My foundation is to empower teenage mothers, girls that came from a struggle, etc. to live their dreams, discover new possibilities within themselves and to continue to move forward. I want to encourage and to inspire young ladies so they know that although you may have had a minor setback, continue to set goals and strive to achieve them. I also have Loyalty is Royalty Entertainment, a multi-faceted entertainment company comprised of artist service departments, including publishing, merchandising, booking, film/TV production, models, talent management, artist development, etc. That is my dream and my goal. I want to take a bunch of talented people and have them under my company, managed my strong individuals to groom them. I am already looking at Razberry to take along and a few others.

EDITOR’S NOTE: It was The Heat Magazine’s pleasure to “kick it with” Kawanna. She is an inspirational lady and we hope you enjoyed getting to know her!
