(HEAT EXCLUSIVE) MARCY: New Orleans’ best kept & soon to be exposed secret

Marcy has to be New Orleansbest kept secret – until now.

Represented by Martin Media Management, Marcy is making a name for himself on the local rap scene.

Out of Kenner City, Marcy, whose roots are Honduran, is showing his versatility as a lyricist and he is becoming quite popular.

Marcy can flow and he can also get the crowd hyped up and keep them that way. He has appeared on several mixtapes and is now preparing to drop his own, “The Inkblot”, which promises to be epic.

We sat down and talked to this self-professed “party animal” and he’ s quite an interesting personality. Here’s how our interview with Marcy went:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell us about yourself.

MARCY: I am a 25-year old Honduran-American, born and raised in New Orleans via Kenner City who is passionate and loves the craft and art of music making, particularly Hip Hop along with meshing other genres of music as well. I also love drinking beer and talking to women!

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Who are your musical influences?

MARCY: Biggie, Jay-Z, Dipset, Pharell Williams, the original Ca$h Money, Outkast, UGK, Rammstein, Gwar, Skrillex, Stone Temple Pilots, The Foo Fighters, and The Prodigy.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell about your music.

MARCY: Sh*t, my music is straight off the f*ckin wall. I don’t sit down and say, “Oh, I’m gonna make a song about cars or whatever. I just hear a beat and let my mind run free. So pretty much, my music is young, wild and spontaneous!

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What inspires you?

MARCY: Coming out with new sounds and concepts inspires me. Music is ever changing and evolving and I always just want to stay ahead of the competition. Pretty much just the love for the craft and experimenting with different genres.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: At what age did you realize you had a talent?

MARCY: Honestly? I’d say like when I was 15, I started battle rapping in cyphers at school and would completely destroy my opponents. I would see how I had crowd control and & the effect & impression I would leave on people so I was like, “Yeah, I got this.” Plus, I was highly doubted because I was this skinny ass lil Spanish kid, but I got it poppin in the end, yee digg (LAUGHS).

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What do you do for fun?

MARCY: Uh (LAUGHS), I love going into New Orleans and walking all throughout the city. F*ck driving through it. I really enjoy just sightseeing on foot and becoming one with my beautiful city because she’s beautiful indeed! It’s kinda my alone time with me and her.  I also love getting tatted and drinking the hell out of some beer. At the end of the day, I’m just a good ol’ Hispanic country boy (LAUGHS).

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What can we expect to see from Marcy in the next several years?

MARCY: You can expect to see me in movies definitely. I’m a character and I know it. I love doing impressions and making accents. I’m a clown, I swear. I’ll probably be like the Hispanic version of Ice Cube. Also, I can see myself being a philanthropist, giving back to my community and to the world as well. At the end of the day, what’s the point of being successful and you don’t share it back with the less fortunate? And last but not least, I know I’ll be one of the top contenders in music. There’s no doubt in my mind. With my work ethic and crazy ideas, I don’t see why I couldn’t be up there with the Kanyes and Jay-Zs.
