Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones fired coach Wade Phillips on
Monday, less than a year after he was given a two-year contract
extension for leading the Cowboys to their first playoff win in over a
decade.
“An in-season coaching change is not something I’ve done
before, something I was reluctant to do as recently as last week,” Jones
said. “But I think what’s best for the organization and the fans is a
coaching change.”
Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett takes over on an interim basis.
