A California man was arrested Monday after being pulled over for speeding in a Rolls-Royce Ghost on SR-99. During the traffic stop, authorities suspected a DUI and discovered an unusual passenger — a one-month-old baby spider monkey.
According to reports, 27-year-old Ali Mused Adel Mohamed was found with the baby monkey, bags of marijuana, a plastic bag full of cash, and multiple phones. The spider monkey was confiscated due to California’s strict laws against private ownership of exotic animals.
Mohamed faces charges including DUI, possession of cannabis for sale, and possession of an exotic animal.
The spider monkey is now in the care of appropriate wildlife authorities.
