The grieving brother of a man stabbed 69 times in a Revere trailer park is admitting through his lawyer that he “lost it” when he hurtled toward the accused killer upon hearing details of the brutal attack — sparking a fracas that injured two Chelsea District Court officers.

Thomas Russo, 51, a self-employed carpenter from Revere, was released on his own recognizance after he was charged with disrupting a court proceeding and two counts of resisting arrest.

“He’s already had to go out and buy a casket for his brother,” said Jay Satin, Russo’s attorney. “Mr. Russo does agree that he lost it. The defendant in that matter was somebody that Mr. Russo knew, who his brother took care of, his brother helped him out, and listening to the events of the alleged murder, he was just very incensed.”

Russo lunged toward accused killer Peter Deconinck, 47, of Revere — but was yanked back instantly by court security and escorted from the room — as Deconinck stood handcuffed inside a prisoner dock at Chelsea District Court for his arraignment on charges he murdered Ronald Russo, 50, on Saturday. Two court officers suffered minor injuries, court documents said.

Louis Garcia, who was in the courtroom, said he heard Russo shouting expletives at Deconinck as court and police officers restrained and dragged him into the hallway.

“He kept saying ’69 wounds ain’t right, please get off of me,’ ” Garcia said.

Deconinck returned to the courtroom and was held on
$1 million cash bail after Russo was removed.
