The woman who fled the country after being charged over a fatal fire at a daycare centre, has turned herself in.
Jessica Tata, 22, escaped to her home in Nigeria, just four days after the tragedy at Jackie’s Child Care, in West Houston, Texas, that left four young children dead.
Today her brother, Ron Tata, 26, said he had been informed by relatives in Nigeria that his sister had turned herself in to the U.S. consulate in Lagos because ‘it would be the right thing to do.’
U.S. Marshals Service spokesman, Jeff Carter, said Tata wasn’t yet in the agency’s custody.
Mr Tata told the Houston Chronicle he wasn’t sure when his sister would be brought back to the U.S.
