A deadly shooting erupted at a northwest Atlanta funeral gathering for a man who was killed at the same location.
The shooting happened at about 4:30 p.m., police said. Channel 2’s Eric Philips was there Friday night as a tow truck removed a car with a shattered rear window from a home on Addison Place.
I heard a bunch of fussing, people saying somebody fighting. I heard a car screech down the street and then, I heard gunshots,†said witness Cassandra Horns.
She had just attended a funeral for her fiance, Keith Jacobs, hours before. Jacobs was shot in the head in front of the same home a little more than a week ago. Police said that shooting may have been over a barking dog.
“It’s just stupid, all this stupid crime,†Horns said.
Police are not sure what the subject of the disagreement was that led to the latest shooting. They said loved ones were gathered at the Addison Place home after Jacobs’ funeral when a woman in a dark-colored sedan got into an argument with a group of women standing in front of the house.
“She sped off from that group of females driving rather erratically and it appears she may have struck an innocent bystander,†said Atlanta police spokesman Keith Meadows.
Then, shots rang out, police said.
“Witnesses report hearing three to four gunshots fired,†Meadows said.
The driver, 36-year-old Tomika Webb, died at the scene.
