Ashley McGinley admitted to officials that she created a post on Facebook advertising $100 worth of food stamps for $50.
McGinley told investigators she sold her EBT card to a friend named “Kenneth.”
Investigators later identified the man as Kenneth Dunham. He told investigators he paid McGinley $100 to use approximately $200 worth of funds on her EBT card.
On 08-07-13 the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding a female selling food stamps on Facebook. The complaint contained photographs of Facebook posts showing a subject named Ashley McGinley, advertising that she was selling $100 worth of food stamps for $50.
After confirming the transactions made to her EBT card, deputies charged McGinley with one count of welfare fraud. McGinley was already in jail on unrelated charges.
