A 38-year-old TV sports anchor has been found dead inside his hotel room.
Daryl Hawks was due to be covering the NBA basketball play-off game on Thursday night between Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls in Atlanta, Georgia, for NBC Chicago.
But the three-time Emmy Winner and former U.S. Marine was found dead by employees at Omni Hotel on Thursday morning after he missed a wake-up call.
It’s the second time in a decade the station’s sports anchor has died suddenly, after Darrian Chapman, 37, died while preparing to play hockey at a Chicago rink in 2002.
