As the holidays have and are quickly approaching, think of how blessed you have been thus far….Now think about an individual who may not be as fortunate. Sometimes it’s hard for us to reflect back to a point in time when we were with lack. Why? Because it may take us to a dark and depressing place. Reflecting back on the song by Partners-N-Crime, “Let the Good Times Roll”, I tend to think that the artists were speaking about a time in which everything was all good. Even if an individual was without something, their neighbors or family members helped to fill that void. When listening to the song, I also thought about how the times have changed and how we as human beings have become very self-centered and selfish. Some of us are so consumed with succeeding and success, that we do not think about the individuals who may not have been provided with the same opportunities as ourselves. I wonder if Kango and Mista Meana did a remake of this song, would they notice any change from 1994 until now.
In the spirit of giving, Mr. Herman Revish, the Founder of GoodTimes, INC (Inner Circle Networking), makes it a point to help out individuals and families who may not be as fortunate as others. Revish, along with other social clubs in the surrounding areas of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, have made a wonderful contribution to the community, better known as the PreHoliday Celebration Benefit. In a recent interview (listed below) with Mr. Revish, he spoke about his organization and the purpose for the annual benefit……..
HEAT: What is the mission of your organization?
REVISH: This group is a network formed to unify, support, fellowship, and empower. GoodTimes I.N.C (Inner Networking Circle) Our goal is to create a circle of successful people who in turn create other successful people. Uniting the world, One event at a time.
HEAT: This is your second event of this type. What compels your organization to host this type of event?
REVISH: Yes, this was our second year doing the toy benefit. We got so much help from other Social & Motorcycle groups this year that was truly a blessing! I think we all get happy just seeing others happy, more so seeing a child smile from ear to ear. Our motivations are our own experiences, directly or indirectly we have all been without or have known those who were without. So to do something that has such a large effect on a child, a child’s parents and a child’s social life ( kids love to show off their new toys ) is an honor.
HEAT: What does Good Times Inc. stand for?
REVISH: GoodTimes, well that really tells the tale! Lol… The name says it all! We love to have a good time, we love to be around & affiliate with positive people who also love to have a good time. I.N.C. , stands for – Inner Networking Circle. Our network consists of people from all walks of life, different careers, different talents, and different goals! Together we feed off one another, learn from one another and support each other. Alot of what we need is already in our community & in our circle of people right in our reach. We just need to patronize, support & pray for everyone to succeed . We didn’t create this group to do community service. We recruit people who already have those values, people who are God fearing and obedient to the word of God already have the faith to know that community service helps advance the kingdom of God! Teams& groups are important but , one bad apple can spoil a bunch! So to have a good team all the players most be on the same page. The main purpose of GoodTimes I.N.C is to unite & create successful people who then turn right back around and unite and create more successful people! And so on, and so on….
HEAT: If one would like to make contributions to your organization or get in contact with you how can one do so?
REVISH: Certainly! Our email address is GoodTimes_INC@ YAHOO.COM or you can look us up on Facebook @ Facebook/GoodTimes Inc.
Well, I say well done Mr. Revish…Well done! And in the words of PNC, Let the Good Times Roll. Mr. Revish of GoodTimes, INC is doing just, but hey, what do I know? I am just a Social Worker Who Needs A Social Worker!
