Brooklyn resident Margo Grant-Louree was arraigned Thursday night in Queens on charges of grand larceny and official misconduct.
A Transportation Security Administration screener has been charged with stealing a passenger’s $7,000 diamond watch from a plastic bin at a John F. Kennedy International Airport security checkpoint.
The case against Margo Grant-Louree was announced Friday by Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s chief security officer, Thomas Belfiore, in a news release.
It said: ‘Mr. Bindoo Ahluwalia, a passenger going through the Terminal 7 security checkpoint at Kennedy Airport on August 26, 2015 placed his Diamond Master watch in a plastic bin and proceeded to go through the security screening.
‘Mr. Ahluwalia then walked away – forgetting the round-faced watch that is completely covered with small, white diamonds.’
Authorities said video shows Grant-Louree picking up the watch and walking away with it August 26.
She told investigators she got nervous and destroyed the watch after seeing co-workers looking for it, according to authorities.
In a statement, Brown said: ‘This kind of thievery will not be tolerated at our airports.’
