Hosted by Bre-Z of the hit show Empire, the BMI Urban Showcase was the hit of the week at Atlanta’s Terminal West this past Tuesday. The Heat Magazine was front and center and honored to cover this event.
BMI is the leading global music rights organization and one of the biggest supporters of urban music, as it recognizes its cultural importance and global influence. Performances included EarthGang, Jacquees and Elhae, along with producers Zaytoven and Drumma Boy. Attendees were treated to surprise performances by superstars Young Dolph, B.O.B., OJ Da Juiceman, and Pastor Troy, with Pastor Troy being presented with the Legends of ATL Award. V-103’s own DJ Infamous kept the crowd going while Greg Street broadcast live from the event. Industry heavyweight Cortez Bryant was also in attendance.
A lot of well-known emerging artists attended the event, including Trouble, an epic young artist who has been putting in work under the auspices of Tony “Tha Connect” Guidry, a Louisiana native whose contributions to hip hop have roots as far back as some of the most legendary groups to ever emerge from Louisiana and Texas.
Be on the lookout for a lot more from Trouble as well as Jacquees, Zaytoven, and Drumma Boy.
