The Beautiful, Brilliant & Gifted Bethany Devine

Amazing Talent

True, God given talent in the music industry is often hard to find. A lot of times what you’ll see from artists, are gimmicks put out there to make the entertainer seem more talented or multi-faceted than what they actually are – such is NOT the case with the lovely songstress, Bethany Devine.

Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, Bethany comes from a large and loving family that supports her music career. More importantly, Bethany has true talent that seems “divinely” imparted. One listen to her music and you are hooked.

Bethany Devine is one name The Heat is confident you’ll be seeing much more of, very, very soon. Her voice is absolutely beautiful and natural – perfect in every way.

In addition to her music career, Bethany Devine is also a dedicated wife and minister. Her bio contains a tidbit that we thought was important to mention, “She feels that the greatest tragedy other than dying without God is to stand in judgment empty handed-without winning enough souls to Jesus Christ.” Wow – now that’s powerful.

Bethany is a college graduate who earned a B.A. in Finance from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She also earns an M.S. in Finance from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. After working in corporate America for a while, she realized her true calling is in musical ministry. Bethany lost her father in 2005 and after beginning to recuperate from her massive loss, she began working even harder to bring her musical career full circle – and she is doing just that. These are just a few of her recent accomplishments:

  • Featured on the National Stellar Awards
  • Featured on The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors on TVOne
  • Featured on the One Love Gospel Cruise with Verizon and Radio One
  • Featured in & selected in the Top 20 of International Vocal Competition on BET’s Sunday Best
  • Toured Europe
  • Ministers to minister to youth at College Campuses, State Prisons and Sexual Assault Coalition gatherings across the country

We had an opportunity to talk to this amazing young role model and here’s what she had to say:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell our readers about yourself.

BETHANY DEVINE: I am the youngest of ten children. I’ve been singing since I was about five years old.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: So what’s in the works for such a busy young entertainer?

BETHANY DEVINE: I have some big things coming up. I have another album that I’m about to start working on. I’m just looking at moving to the next level. The only reason that I sing is to inspire people. That’s the main reason for my voice – I always want to inspire. It’s my goal to be inspiring and to encourage people. I’ve traveled all over the world and I also do a lot of college campuses and churches across the country, and also state prisons. People are people, no matter where they are.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Are you looking to get into any other avenues of entertainment or business, in addition to the music?

BETHANY DEVINE: Yes, I’m looking into getting into encouraging t-shirts. I’m definitely going to work on branding myself a lot more. I’m working with a lot of different people now. I can’t say everything yet, but there is definitely more to come.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: If there was anyone you could choose to work with as far as artists, who would that be?

BETHANY DEVINE: That would be between Kirk Franklin and Babyface. I think they’re both brilliant producers and I’d like for them to work with me. I’d also like to work with Kanye West.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: How can fans find you on Twitter and Facebook?

BETHANY DEVINE: My Twitter name is @beedevine. On Facebook, I’m “Bethany Devine” and they can also “Like” my Facebook fan page, B. Devine. My website is
