South Carolina Employee Accused of Embezzling Over $200,000 from Furniture Store

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. – Maria Hamma, a 46-year-old resident of South Carolina, faces allegations of embezzling more than $200,000 from her employer, Furniture from High Point, located in Anderson County. Authorities revealed that Hamma reportedly misappropriated the funds, with part of the money allegedly spent on two European vacations.

Investigators began scrutinizing financial records after discrepancies surfaced, leading to suspicions about Hamma’s financial activities. According to officials, evidence suggests she used her position within the company to siphon funds over an extended period.

Law enforcement agencies have indicated that they are compiling documentation of transactions and expenses linked to Hamma’s actions. She is now awaiting a court appearance, where she will face charges related to embezzlement and potential misuse of corporate funds.

As the case unfolds, Furniture from High Point has not yet issued an official statement regarding the allegations but has confirmed its cooperation with authorities during the investigation.
