A 23-year-old babysitter has been arrested for child neglect after riding in the back of a pick-up truck with an eight-month-old child beside her in a stroller.
Keyona Nicole Davis, from Daytona Beach, Florida, was babysitting the boy when she put him in the bed of the 1994 Dodge Ram and sat in beside him.
While Davis was arrested, the driver of the truck, Bennie White, was cited for careless driving, Daytona Beach police spokesman Jimmie Flynt said.
Police received numerous 911 calls about the situation as the truck travelled along two busy intersections of Orange County before pulling into the driveway of a home, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
One 911 caller was on the line for almost five minutes, following the truck as it went south on Nova and staying behind it until police caught up with it on Adams Street.
The arresting officer noted the truck travelled through two of the busiest intersections in Volusia County, calling it ‘a highly dangerous situation’.
