Sheriff’s Deputy ‘Turned Jail Into Female Orgy And Operated Party-Like Atmosphere

A sheriff’s office jail deputy has been accused of allowing inmates to dance topless, operating an orgy-like atmosphere and sending lewd text messages to female prisoners.

Deputy Mason Chibnick is accused of conducting the inappropriate behaviour at the Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano.

He was found to have violated the code of ethics, failed to use good judgement and engaged in conduct unbecoming of a Broward Sheriff’s Office employee.

As well as the orgy-like atmosphere in the prison, he is said to have looked for inmates on Facebook after they were released, sent a picture of his penis beside a toothbrush to the cousin of a former inmate and went into a closet with one inmate during his shift.

Other allegations made by inmates and colleagues are that he passed secret messages to the women, watched them perform sex acts on each other, allowed inmates to play Truth or Dare and encouraged a permissive ‘wild atmosphere’ when he was in charge.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Chibnick was given a counselling slip advising him of the policies, and he was transferred to an all-male jail on his own request, public records say.

The investigative summary said: ‘During the course of this investigations, inmates and deputies described inappropriate conversations and contact that they witnessed Deputy Chibnick engaging in with female inmates.’

He denied any inappropriate contact or behaviour in a sworn BSO statement, telling investigators that ‘if he were to return to his assignment with the female inmates, he would not do anything differently’.

Five of his BSO colleagues gave statements to investigators about behaviour they saw or had heard about that concerned them, the file shows.

And six inmates gave statements, including two who defended him.

One inmate, when questioned, said he didn’t make sexual advances but that he did contact her and sent a photo of his penis.

Chibnick asked in April to be reassigned because he didn’t feel ‘comfortable’ working with female inmates any more and valued his career, with ‘nearly 10 years of solid work history’.

He also voluntarily closed his Facebook page.

He is now working in the Joseph V. Conte Facility in Pompano Beach.

BSO detention Sgt Tony Marciano, a leader in the Federation of Public Employees union, said jealousy can erupt among female inmates, and then the lies begin.

He told the Orlando Sentinel: ‘Some people just cannot work with females, period. Some deputies cannot separate female and inmate.

‘They tell you that in the academy. … I think he found out that’s him. And he needs to stay away from them. It doesn’t make you a bad guy.”
