Pine Bluff Man Wanted for Attempted Murder of Police Officer Arrested in Texas (Video) below
Pine Bluff, AR – Chaderious Avery, a Pine Bluff man wanted in connection with the 2023 attempted murder of a police officer, was apprehended in Seagoville, Texas, on Monday, nearly a year after the crime. Avery, 27, is facing numerous serious charges and will be extradited to Pine Bluff, where he is being held on a $1 million cash-only bond.
According to court documents from Jefferson County, Avery is charged with attempted capital murder, violating the machine gun act, committing a terroristic act, and other felony offenses. These include 39 counts of aggravated assault—one for each bullet hole found in Officer Kimberly Dunn’s patrol car following the October 5, 2023, shooting. Dunn, who was sitting in her patrol car at the Camelot Apartments, drove herself to the hospital despite not knowing whether she had been shot.
Two fully automatic Glock handguns were recovered near the scene. Avery’s accomplice, Quantavious Sission, was arrested shortly after the incident.
Avery’s capture is a major step forward in the investigation, and we extend our gratitude to law enforcement for their dedication in pursuing justice.
