Nicki Minaj Says She Contemplated Suicide Early In Her Career “I Felt Like Nothing Was Working”

Nicki Minaj has a lot to be thankful for. She has a successful rap career ahead of her, but getting to this point was hard for the Harajuku Barbie.

In a new interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, Nicki reveals the frustration of trying to get her foot in the door of the music business caused her to contemplate suicide.

“I felt like nothing was working. I had moved out on my own, and here I was thinking I’d have to go home. It was one dead end after another,” she said. “At one point, I was, like, ‘What would happen if I just didn’t wake up?’ That’s how I felt. Like maybe I should just take my life?”

Now that she’s tasted success, Nicki has no plans to let it go. She told Cosmo about her big plans for the future.
