West Coast Artist Genesix releases a new single ¨Devil Went Down to LA”
The LA rapper Genesix releases a brand new single ¨Devil Went Down to LA.” The theme of the song was released the day before Halloween and it fits perfectly for October. Genesix raps about fighting the devil that tries to cut him a deal- an offer he cannot accept. The single is the hip-hop version of the classic “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.” They both have the same concept with different approaches- from melodic choruses to spacey vocals and catchy hooks. The catchy melodies being something he has done in multiple past songs. The rapper took us by surprise by coming very lyrical on this track at the same time, yet the delivery is different with spacey ambient vocals. The song makes a whole different vibe when listening to it.
The ¨Devil Went Down to LA” track is something that you won’t hear every day. The devil representing “evil labels” taking advantage of artists and fighting against it makes this a concept track. It’s something we haven’t heard before comparing it to his last releases. This is one of Genesix’s most lyrical tracks yet after you hear each bar with a different melody. Also, it reaches the chorus with almost a gospel type of vocals.
It’s safe to assume Genesix can be labeled as an experimental artist, all of his past songs had a different approach, a different vibe, and a different sound, and each new track shows a different style he hasn’t touched before and this is a sound we haven’t heard from him before and it wouldn’t be a surprise if on his next single he hit us with something completely different.
