Mid-South Police Lieutenant Relieved of Duty Following Domestic Assault Charges

Lieutenant Charles Taylor of the Piperton Police Department has been relieved of duty after being charged with domestic assault—bodily harm. Taylor’s suspension is pending the outcome of the case.

Deputies arrested Taylor on Friday morning following an alleged domestic dispute in Arlington, Tennessee. According to court records, a woman reported that she was asleep on a couch when Taylor woke her, demanding sex. When she attempted to escape, Taylor reportedly chased her, grabbed her, and dragged her back into the house.

The woman stated that Taylor became aggressive, calling her expletives and knocking over household items during the altercation. She managed to use a stun gun on Taylor multiple times, incapacitating him long enough to escape.

The investigation remains ongoing. Support and resources for victims of domestic violence are available for those in need.
