Memphis police say a 33-year-old man beat a 4-month-old boy to death after finding out the baby wasn’t his.
Jose Avila-Agurcia is charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated child abuse in the death of Alexander Lizondro-Chacon, a baby he thought was his throughout the mother’s pregnancy.
According to the affidavit of complaint, officers were called to the 1300 block of Court Avenue on April 12 for a report of a baby that was unresponsive.
