Man Tries To Burn Wife To Death…But Sets Fire To Himself

A man who allegedly tried to kill his ex-wife by setting her on fire mistakenly turned himself into a human torch.

Matthew Wong has been left fighting for his life after his attempted murder plot went disastrously wrong in Florida.

The 50-year-old had chased his estranged wife Gloria Davis across an apartment complex car park with a 2 1/2 gallon container of gasoline.

As he tossed the liquid at his wife it splashed all over his clothes.

When he set fire to bushes outside a flat where his wife was taking refuge he went up in flames.

Wong was heard shouting:’I’m gonna kill you’ before his clothes caught fire.

Neighbours found Wong rolling on the ground in agony and helped beat out the flames with blankets.

He was rushed to Tampa General Hospital where he remains in a critical condition with third degree burns.
