Memphis Police Department has taken a man into custody, charging him with pushing his girlfriend out of a second-floor window in a disturbing incident of domestic violence.
The arrest followed a report received by officers on March 12 from a victim who was undergoing treatment at a hospital. The woman recounted to authorities that she had been involved in a heated altercation with her boyfriend, identified as Jeremiah Chalmers.
According to the affidavit, the altercation between Chalmers and the victim escalated inside the bedroom of her second-floor apartment. It was during this argument that Chalmers allegedly pushed the victim out of the window, resulting in her landing on her leg and sustaining injuries.
The victim further detailed that Chalmers, following the push, callously remarked, “that’s what you get b*tch,” illustrating the callousness and brutality of the act.
Such incidents of domestic violence are deeply concerning and highlight the critical need for support systems and resources to protect victims. The Memphis Police Department’s swift action in arresting Chalmers underscores their commitment to addressing and preventing such acts of violence within the community.
Chalmers now faces charges related to this incident, and the legal process will continue as authorities work to ensure accountability for his alleged actions.
