Man In Wheelchair Charged In First Homicide Of The Year In Vegas

A man is in custody charged with the valley’s first murder of the year, but not before trying to escape in a wheelchair.

Authorities say Timothy Oliver, also known as
Timothy Owen, shot a man in the street in the 2400 block of Lexington
Street, near Martin Luther King and Carey in North Las Vegas.

Police say he took off in his electric wheelchair and they were eventually able to track him down.

The 39 year-old victim was found dead in the middle of the street when officers arrived.
