Early Monday morning, Largo Police say a masked man attacked a CVS store employee with a knife while high on drugs and alcohol.

Police say around midnight, the man — later identified as 23-year-old Lorenzo Guerrero — walked into the CVS Pharmacy store, at 4000 East Bay Drive, and stabbed the store employee in an “unprovoked ambush-style attack” who was working just inside the front door.

Guerrero left his car in the parking lot and fled on foot. Officers caught up with him a short time later and arrested him.

The employee was rushed to Bayfront Medical Center with multiple non-life threatening stab wounds.

Largo Police say a further investigation revealed Guerrero was on a dangerous cocktail of cocaine, synthetic drugs, and Four Loko beverages. He could not provide officers any reason for his actions.
