SPRINGFIELD, LA (WAFB) –
Authorities said two teens were arrested Sunday because of a Facebook post threatening a shooting at their high school Monday morning.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Richard Gainey, 17, of Springfield and Taylor Thomas, 18, of Holden were each charged with terrorizing after they wrote on Facebook a shooting was going to happen at Springfield High.
Deputies said when they were questioned about it the teenagers told them it was meant as a prank.
Investigators said the boys added there was never any intent to harm anyone.
Gainey and Thomas were booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
Bond was set at $25,000 each.
LPSO said both were still in jail.
