William Balfour, brother-in-law of singer Jennifer Hudson, has been sentenced to serve three life sentences for murdering three members of the Hudson family. The sentences are to be served consecutively.
On May 11th, Balfour was convicted of first degree murder. He took the lives of Jennifer Hudson’s mother Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason Hudson, and nephew Julian King, who was only 7-years-old. He was also found guilty of home invasion and residential burglary charges.
Balfour continued to proclaim his innocence in the Chicago courtroom hearing in which Jennifer Hudson was in attendance. During the proceedings, the judge presiding over the case said to Balfour “Your soul is as barren as dark space.”
Balfour committed the murders back in 2008.
