A Houston mother, Brandy R. Brown, is facing charges after leaving her 3-year-old child in her car while she went to have a drink at a bar. Unaware that her child was inside, the car was subsequently towed away.
According to the Houston Police Department, the incident occurred when a tow truck driver came to remove Brown’s illegally parked Acura. The District Attorney’s Office explained that in some cases, tow truck drivers will move a vehicle down the road before fully securing it to avoid confrontations with the vehicle’s owner. In this instance, the tow truck driver did just that.
After moving the vehicle, the driver began securing it when they noticed the toddler inside. The driver immediately called authorities, and the child was safely recovered.
Brown is now facing charges related to child endangerment. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging parents to always ensure the safety of their children, especially in situations involving parked or unattended vehicles.
Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
