(WMC-TV Reports) – Memphis Police are searching for who stole a truck filled with thousands of dollars worth of ham from Honeybaked Ham in Cordova.
Honeybaked Ham is on the holiday menu for many people. Reinforcements have arrived at the Cordova store to keep up with the demand.
A semi-trailer packed with food was stolen from behind the store between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. According to a Memphis police report, the heist included 1,017 hams valued at $56,000.
Nearly $57,000 in side dishes were also stolen, along with 42 cases of turkeys worth another $15,000.
“We’ve scrambled around and had hams come in from different states, so there will not be a shortage,” said a Honeybaked Ham spokesperson.
The spokesperson could not recall a similar heist in the company’s history and said they would not serve the stolen food if recovered.
