Check out Devious’ hot new single “Black Shirt, Black Shoe, Black Jeans”, a hit straight out the gate. It’s being played on RobGRadio.com, 66Raw.com, Q93.com, 504 Radio, and NOUE All- Stars “Da Independents”.
Devious explains the symbolism behind the song:
“In English Language Arts, you learn a literary technique called symbolism. In America, some symbols and colors have been misidentified and misrepresented in the Dictionary. Researchers say that it’s because of the dominant culture. In other words, whoever the dominant culture is, basically has an edge in what literature and history our children learn in school. It has been referred to as assimilation. “Black Shirt, Black Shoes, Black Jeans” is a positive song that expresses positive symbolism and points out some of the highlights in history related to the word black and African American contributions in general.”
The Heat believes this song is important to listen to and understand, especially with regard to the youth, who may not fully realize the importance of contributions by African-Americans in this country. It is through positive artists such as Devious that we can all learn or a thing or two.
