(HEAT PRODUCT REVIEW) SMS Audio’s ‘Street by 50’ over-ear headphones

For a while now, Beats By Dre and a few other brands have been the industry standard for headphones, whether used by professionals or everyday music lovers. SMS Audio has introduced a headphone that is sure to rival Beats By Dre and those other brands – a premier audio headphone line from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

The Heat received a pair of “Street by 50” Over-ear wired headphones. From the time I opened the box, it was apparent that this is a quality product. They are light, yet heavy enough to stay anchored while wearing them. I did not experience them slipping off or shifting during wear, unlike many other over the ear headphones. They also did not seem rigid or stressed when moving them around.

Street by 50 is also designed in such a way that the unit drowns out any outside noise. Luxurious, comfortable, well-fitting, sleek, and aesthetically pleasing, Street by 50 headphones are covered with memory foam that allows for the best listening experience possible. We received the Shadow Black color for review – a nice color and a very attractive pair of headphones.

We are truly impressed with these headphones and highly recommend them. They have the following features:

  • Professional studio sound
  • Enhanced bass
  • Passive noise cancelation
  • High-end styling with soft memory foam cushions
  • Professionally turned 40mm driver
  • Complete with carrying case, cleaning cloth, removable cable with mic, & airplane plug adapter
  • Available in Shadow Black and Phantom Blue

Manufactured using a custom polymer plastic, Street by 50 headphones has plastic sides, causing it to be more durable and secure. SMS Audio carefully designed and constructed these headphones in order that the user may get many years of use from the product. Working closely in the studio with recording artists, one of the complaints I have often heard is of supposed high quality headphones breaking after a short time of use. Street by 50 headphones are flexible and give just enough that breakage should not be a problem.

Check out the video below where 50 Cent demonstrates the durability of his product:

These are the perfect headphones to use to listen to music, television and even movies. I keep a great deal of music on my laptop and listened to many different types of music while testing the unit, as well as viewed videos and watched several movies, using the Street by 50 headphones. I must say, I am utterly impressed and can highly recommend these.

I have had the opportunity to use Beats By Dre and can assure our readers that this is a comparable and likely more durable unit. In addition, 50 Cent carefully planned out the user’s experience from his line of headphones, particularly by choosing passive noise cancelation as opposed to active noise cancelation. Using research, he determined that the listener experiencing the pure sound as it was recorded gives the best possible experience. A lot of thought went into the acoustics, sound leakage, construction, and the leather construction of the ear cup, producing a 95% Total Harmonic Distortion sound.

In other words, Street by 50 headphones provides an unrivaled and impeccable listening experience. With Kleer Wireless Technology, these headphones have an unbeatable combination of style and perfect sound.

The Heat gives Street by 50 headphones 5/5 stars. We highly recommend these headphones for professional or personal use. Be sure to check out SMS Audio’s website to learn more about Street by 50, as well as their other headphones:
