A student had sex with a woman while his two friends filmed them, then threatened to post the footage on Facebook if she complained, a court heard yesterday.
George Iaponas, 24, wooed his victim on the social networking website and she agreed to come to his room for sex, jurors heard.
Unknown to the woman, Lemar Garcia, 20, and Shabar Hussain, 21, were hiding under the bed with a camera, it was said.
After the sex session with the student Iaponas asked if she had ever had a threesome before saying: ‘I’ve got a surprise for you’ and summoning Garcia and Hussain from under the bed.
Garcia had used his digital camera to record Iaponas having sex with the woman, Snaresbrook Crown Court in East London was told.
The disgusted woman threatened to report the trio but was warned her life would be ‘made hell’ and the footage would be posted on Facebook if she complained, the court heard.
The alleged offence happened at the University of Westminster halls of residence in Hoxton Market, East London, on February 17 last year.
Prosecutor Ian Dear said: ‘George Iaponas had had a sexual relationship with the victim for a few weeks.
‘In the small hours of that morning, Iaponas was with his two co-defendants. He was chatting to the victim on Facebook and he invited her to come to his room for sex. She agreed.
‘The three defendants, the Crown say, planned to go to the room armed with a small digital camera and record what was happening.
‘The plan was that Mr Iaponas was going to have sex with the woman and the two defendants were to conceal themselves below the bed. After they had sex Mr Iaponas asked her if she had ever had a threesome, then he said: “I’ve got a surprise for you†and out came the two defendants from under the bed.
Hiding: Shabar Hussain (left) and Lemar Garcia waited under the bed with a camera at the ready
‘She said: “You’re sick, you have been under the bed the whole time†and perhaps she was even more frightened when she saw one of them had a digital camera.
‘George Iaponas became aggressive and said he would make life hell for her if she reported what had gone on.
‘Threats were made that if she told anyone, the recording would be put on Facebook.’
The woman did report the three friends and when Garcia was interviewed by police he admitted transferring the footage from his camera to his laptop, the court heard.
‘[Garcia] agreed that he had been under the bed in the room the night before,’ said Mr Dear. ‘He agreed that his camera had been used.’
Garcia, of the Isle of Dogs, East London, Hussain, of Maida Vale, West London, and Iaponas, of Greenwich, South-East London, all deny voyeurism.
The trial continues.
