I had the chance to talk with Duane Henderson about the emerging and original label “Duane Demethci”. “Duane Demetchi“ is derived from the creator’s first and middle name adding a personal touch to the brand.
The line caters to women, so ladies you have a lot to look forward to. Duane along with his partner Edward Mitchell have been in the clothing industry since 2002 and are is making great strides in expanding their influence.
In this interview I asked Duane a few questions about himself, the line, the image, and what this means for future of ‘Duane Demetchi ”. Let’s see what he had to say.
Kim M. Bell: What inspires you to make clothing?
Duane Henderson: I would have to say it’s the opportunity to take a thought or idea and transform it into a tangible good. What really inspires me is to see what I invision come to life. When I have an idea and am able to share it with others though clothing, it makes me feel like I’ve made a difference.
Kim M. Bell: What is your hometown and age?
Duane Henderson: I’m 35 and from downtown New Orleans Louisiana.
Kim M. Bell: What makes your designs original?
Duane Henderson: We make luxury contemporary clothing but that doesn’t stop us from thinking outside the box. Recently we came up with an Idea of a pineapple scratch and sniff t- shirt. Smell is tied to memory so if you can smell something you are more likely to remember that thing. Aside from that, we are always coming up with new ideas and better ways of promoting ourselves. We never stop thinking of ways to accommodate, intrigue, and satisfy our customers.
Kim M. Bell: What kind of woman do you cater to?
Duane Henderson: We cater to all kinds of women. We feel like we have something for every kind of woman and do not limit ourselves to one specific style or type.
Kim M. Bell: How can you be contacted and where is your store located?
Duane Demetchi: We have many different ways to be contacted. You are welcome to check out our Facebook. Our website is under renovation but will be up and running soon. We do strictly wholesale merchandising, so you would have to go to one of our vendors to buy our merchandise or contact us directly.
