(WABC) — An Eyewitness News Investigators exclusive over explosive racial allegations that are being leveled by four New York State Parole officers who claim they were illegally stopped while on the job in Rockland County by local cops, threatened and detained.
The four veteran New York state parole officers claim that they were on duty, wearing their vests, their shields, and driving a state-issued vehicle when they were surrounded at gunpoint by local cops at an intersection in Rockland County.
Sarah Wallace: “Why do you think you were stopped?”
Sheila Penister: “Racial profiling, no doubt in my mind.”
Annette Thomas: “All I could think of was if I sneeze, or blink, or clear my throat, that yeah, I might have a bullet lodged in my head.”
Samuel Washington: “As a parole officer, you have to have tough skin. But this was much deeper than just getting our feelings hurt. This was activity that was menacing and threatening and violent. Hateful.”
