The Heat Magazine: What sparked your interest in womens clothing?

Richard Robinson of Dime1One Fabulous Lifestyles: We would often hear women complain that there were not enough options for clothes in Pine Bluff and surrounding areas. Other than Dillard’s and Holiday’s, there was no where to shop. Before our store opened up, there really wasn’t anywhere to find club dress, other than in Little Rock.  Women are often are looking for clothes that complement their body type and personal style. We wanted to fill a space that was missing in this area by giving women a place to go where they could find everything they need.  Were doing a pretty good job.

The Heat Magazine: How long have you been in business?

Kenneth Ferguson of Dime1One Fabulous Lifestyles: We’ve been in business for about 6 years now.

The Heat Magazine: Describe the style of your clothing?

Kenneth Ferguson of Dime1One Fabulous Lifestyles: We try to give a mixture of everything. We have dress casual pieces for the mothers and working women.  We have club wear for young adults, business wear for the 9-5 woman, and stylish and beautiful pieces for women who love to dress.  We offer a variety of styles and cover different age groups. Dime1One prides its self on being a place where a mother and daughter can shop together and both can say they found what they were looking for.

The Heat Magazine: What should we expect from your store in the future?

Kenneth Ferguson of Dime1One Fabulous Lifestyles: We are already taking our first steps into expanding our store by the creation of Dime1one.com which launches May 15th. We have plans of franchising Dime1One and turning the store into a chain business with locations all over the U.S.  We plan to branch out of Arkansas and spread to locations in surrounding states.

The Heat Magazine: Where did the name Dime1One come from?

Richard Robinson of Dime1One Fabulous Lifestyles: Well in the urban community, the word “dime” describes a beautiful woman. One means to come together. (Unity) Every woman, whether a size 0 or even a 16 has a little bit of dime in them and this is where Dime1One comes from.

The Heat Magazine: Has your store done anything for the community?

Richard Robinson of Dime1One Fabulous Lifestyles: We give internship opportunities to college students and are very involved with the fashion majors at the local university. We sponsor modeling teams and have an annual pageant to find a new Miss Dime1One every year. This gives women a chance to make an impact on the community as well the store.

The Heat Magazine: Where is Dime1One located?

Richard Robinson of Dime1One Fabulous Lifestyles: Dime1One Fabulous Lifestyles is currently located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas inside of Jefferson Square shopping center. The current address for Dime1One Fabulous Lifestyles is 2801 South Olive Street, Suite 29, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.
