Chop Shop Bust Nets Half Million Dollars In Stolen Auto Parts

(WLBT) -Jackson Police say they’ve recovered more than a half-million-dollars in stolen auto parts in a chop shop bust.

Acting on tips from the community, officers busted Precious Body Shop, on Gault Street, just off Highway 80. They found crates containing catalytic converters, headlight assemblies, wiring harnesses and tires, all stolen from the Nissan Plant.

Officer Colendula Green says the parts are worth at least $500-thousand-dollars.

The owner of the body shop has been arrested and the investigation is continuing.
