A young couple who have been missing for more than two weeks may have been found dead and stuffed into the trunk of a car.
Evande ‘Cassy’ Orna, 39, from New Jersey, and her boyfriend Troy Edwards, 40, were due to pick up a relative in Virginia but failed to show up.
Bodies that were found on Wednesday stuffed into the trunk of car in Brooklyn is expected to be theirs though they have yet to be identified.
Police were alerted after Mr Edwards’ baby’s mother spotted the silver 2011 Nissan Altima with a parking ticket on the wind shield dated February 28.
The car’s license plate matched the plate of the rented car the couple were last seen driving.
Miss Orna’s mother last heard from her on February 20 when she called to discuss the details of the trip.
Veronica Ramessar told the New York Daily News: ‘She was happy, because she was going to take me to Queens for the weekend.
‘She told me, “I love you a million times”. Those were her last words to me.’
Speaking to the Star Ledger, she also revealed she was suspicious of the man her daughter was dating.
‘I don’t like Troy. I think she died for him,’ she said.
A law enforcement source told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that police believe the pair made it to an apartment in Richmond, where they found disturbing evidence of a crime – ‘red stains in several locations’, duct tape and a stun gun.
Police said the bodies showed no visible signs of trauma and they are still trying to determine whether it is the missing couple.
